S. Korea's murder of Busan doctor caused by stock investment failure

 On April 6, 2022, a woman in her 40s, who was arguing over investment in Busan Metropolitan City, strangled a male doctor in her 50s and buried him in a field of acquaintances in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do. Later, when there were more problems, he even took out the buried body's hand and made a thumbprint to forge a stock contract.

A woman in her 40s and victim B in their 50s, who met at a stock cafe, partnered, but lost the principal after failing to invest hundreds of millions of won in investment that A received, and B was in trouble to pay the office monthly rent. In addition, A implicitly used the investment as personal living expenses and failed to repay it properly. Angrily, B notified that she would consult with A's husband if she did not return 100 million won by March 28.

If this is revealed to her husband, A decides to kill B, judging that there is a possibility of divorce. In advance, he lied about planting trees in a field of an acquaintance in Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, and mobilized forklane workers to dig a hole to bury the body. They also used printed materials to cover license plates.

On the day of the incident, B pretended to go to meet his friend and planned to meet with A. On April 6, 2022, Mr. A, who met at a parking lot in Cheongryong-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan, warned Mr. B not to come by paying KRW 1 to 1.5 million every month, and the angry Mr. B tried to move to the passenger seat. At that time, he strangled B with a corvina brought by A and killed him.

Later, he wore a wig and drove an acquaintance's car to bury B's body in a hole where the body was dug. However, on April 7, B's wife was asked a question related to the case, and to avoid doubt, B's body, which had already been buried, was dug up again. After that, he took out the body's hand and made a false stock contract by stamping his thumb.

On April 16, when B's family reported his disappearance, Busan Geumjeong Police Station found B's body in a field of an acquaintance in Yangsan. Later, a driver who worked on a forklift was called to confirm that A dug a hole and was immediately arrested. Mr. A eventually confessed to the police interrogation while denying. The police determined that women could not do this alone and investigated whether they had committed a joint crime, but concluded that A acted alone without finding an accomplice.

The first trial was held on June 10, 2022. The perpetrator, Mr. A, admitted all the charges. On October 14, the first trial was held in the fifth criminal division of the Busan District Court (Chief Judge Park Moo-young), and the prosecution sentenced him to life imprisonment, a higher sentence than 28 years of imprisonment demanded by the prosecution. On February 9, 2023, the Busan High Court reversed the judgment of the first trial and sentenced him to 30 years in prison. And on May 8, 2023, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal and confirmed a 30-year prison term.
