2022 Saskatchewan, Canada, serial knife rampage

 On September 4, 2022, a series of knife rampages at James Smith's Creations in south-central Canada and the nearby town of Weldon resulted in the deaths of more than 10 indigenous people. Damien Sanderson, the older brother of the brothers identified as the suspect in the case, was found dead, and his younger brother Miles Sanderson died of self-harm during his arrest, bringing the total number of deaths to 12. The incident occurred on September 4th during the Labor Day holiday in Canada, causing national mourning. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has officially expressed his condolences and Parliament has opened early. The James Smith Creation, an area of about 2,000 people, is a Canadian Native Reservation. Administratively, it belongs to the 100th district of James Smith, Saskatchewan, with an area of 72 km2, similar to the area of Ulleungdo Island.
