 On January 12, 2022, at 9 p.m., a 27-year-old woman was killed in a studio apartment in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do after receiving a farewell notice from Cho Hyun-jin. This woman was previously dating Cho Hyun-jin but was notified of her breakup. On January 12, Cho Hyun-jin bought a weapon at a convenience store and entered a studio in Seongjeong-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, where the woman lives. There, Cho Hyun-jin locked the bathroom door and quarreled with the victim, stabbed her with a weapon at 9:40 p.m. and left there. The victim was with her mother in a studio apartment.  On April 13, 2022, a knife rampage occurred at around 0:13 a.m. in Seonghwan-eup, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. According to the police, Kim (54 years old at the time) allegedly killed two women in her 30s by wielding a weapon against two couples who had a quarrel on the sidewalk in front of a karaoke room in Seonghwan-eup, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan.   In late August 2021, a 56-year-old male named Kang Yoon-seong, who had a history of robbery and sexual crimes, committed a series of murders against two victims in the Songpa-gu district of Seoul, South Korea. Afterward, he turned himself in to the police. On August 26th, around 5:00 PM, Kang Yoon-seong purchased a kitchen knife from a mart in Samjeon-dong, Songpa-gu. Prior to that, at 3:57 PM, he bought a cutting machine from a hardware store in Ogum-dong. Between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM on August 26th, Kang Yoon-seong suffocated and killed a woman in her 40s whom he had met at a karaoke establishment, using a blanket.
